Sunny Days And Acidic Skies

DUN DUN DAH. FINALLY. It is done.

Decided to try my hand at a TFP version of Sunstorm and Acid Storm (because seriously, these guys do not get enough attention).

This also happens to be my "first" piece of digital art using my tablet (not counting my previous horrible sketches). And, I'm rather proud it. It's not perfect, the shading is off, the proportions are terrible, and I got kind of lazy at some point and didn't feel like finishing their limbs, but nevertheless it's mine. You've got to start somewhere, right?

It was kind of interesting coming up with a design and color pallet for these two. I stared with the idea of making them colorful copies of Starscream but that idea went out the window rather quickly when I lost my internet for a bit, thus losing my Starscream references. This is mostly drawn from memory, which explains the errors in their armor. As for their colors, I was aiming for something similar to their G1 colors but at the same time something different. I rather like the outcome. The rust-ish looking coloring on Acid Storm's wings is actually suppose to be acid corrosion. I figured being sparked with their abilities (or built, depending on which back story you care to believe concerning Sunstorm), their body armor could withstand the heat/acid. Their sensitive, thin plated wings? Not so much (I was going to put a burnt/soot effect on Sunstorm's, but figured he's probably be too narcissistic to walk around in public like that. Acid Storm on the other hand I picture to be a little sadistic so he probably doesn't care at all. In fact, he probably thinks it makes him look cooler).
